About Us

A Community Dedicated to Caring for Strays

Biophilic Society is a cross-school student-led club dedicated to helping stray dogs and cats in our community. Through fundraising, donations, and awareness campaigns, we provide food, shelter, blankets, toys, and care for animals in need. Our mission is to create a compassionate environment where every stray has the chance to feel safe, loved, and supported. We do this because each member has direct experience with stray animals, and that experience drives us to turn compassion into action.

What we do

Our mission in action

Rescue & Care

We have linked with the Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) to help provide materials, shelter, and medical care for stray cats and dogs, making sure they get the safety and support they need.

Fundraising & Donations

During our fundraising events, we sell toys, treats, and drinks. These generous donations go directly toward helping animals in need. Every event is a chance to bring our community together while supporting stray cats and dogs.

Awareness & Community

Alongside HSSV, we work to spread awareness about the struggles stray animals face. We also share volunteering opportunities at our schools and in the community to encourage more people to get involved and make a difference.

Co-President

There are many stray cats and dogs in my community, and I’ve always felt a special bond with them. Last year, a stray cat living in my backyard gave birth to three kittens, and I helped care for them. I believe love creates a powerful bond between species, and I’m committed to doing whatever I can to help.

I’ve always been an animal person, and I grew up having multiple dogs and cats. Through my experience, I helped the animal shelters through Irvington Student Corps because I wanted to support abandoned pets and give back to my community.

Growing up, I used to babysit my neighbors’ 3 dogs. Ever since then, I’ve been a big dog person. When I heard about this mission, I decided that I wanted to help in any way I could.
